Every human being is an indivisible totality of body, mind, feelings and sensations. The moving body is the
most concrete part, because we can watch and touch it.
We often act according to automatic patterns, that are deeply-rooted over time. Those patterns make us
have the same emotional reaction, the same physical pain, the same point of view and they prevent us
from achieving our objectives.
The Feldenkrais Method leads us to sensing ourselves, while we are moving: we recognize our habits and
actively discover new, easier and more pleasant possibilities of using ourselves.
This improved awareness through the movement results not only in a gained physical flexibility, but also in
more emotional balance and confidence in our capabilities.
We concretely learn how to organize ourselves, in order to realize our objective more easily and with less
resistance. Feldenkrais Method can be apply in group or individual lessons. In a group lesson, termed ATM
(Awareness Through Movement), partecipants usually lie on mats and are guided by the voice of the Practitioner
to explore from the smallest movement to the most complex action. They discover how to connect the various parts
of themselves, so that their movement become easier, more efficient and without unnecessary tension
The psychomotor experience of a child is re-created, when the child plays and gradually learns how to move, to stand
up on his own and walk in the world.
